Juho Hänninen is the latest in a long line of rally greats to hail from Finland’s legendary history at the top of the sport.
Hänninen arrives at ROC 2011 on the back of two highly successful years of competition with Skoda. He won the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2010 with three wins and seven more podiums. He then went on to take the Super 2000 World Rally Championship title in 2011, again with three victories in addition to three more on the IRC.
The Finn completed his first rally in a VW Golf in 1999, going on to win the Finnish Group N title five years later before taking Group N victory on his WRC debut in the 2006 Swedish Rally. He took his first IRC win on Rally Russia in 2008, leading to his Skoda factory deal for 2009. Since then he has gone from strength to strength.
Now Hänninen has the chance to take on the world’s best from rallying and racing in the 2011 Race Of Champions. He will partner Le Mans great Tom Kristensen for Team Nordic in the ROC Nations Cup.
