Karun Chandhok has become a well-known face in the Formula 1 paddocks of the world ever since his racing debut for HRT early in 2010.
The son of multiple Indian rally champion Vicky Chandhok, Karun enjoyed a memorable career on the way up through the racing ranks. After starting out in Asia, he moved to Europe and raced in many series including British F3, the World Series by Renault and A1GP.
In 2007 he made the switch to GP2 and found instant success with a victory in the sprint race at the legendary drivers' circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. After earning a two-day test for Red Bull's F1 team, he took a further GP2 victory in Germany in 2008.
Since his stint in Formula 1 he has competed in endurance racing for JRM, including two strong finishes at Le Mans. He is also famous among British race fans for his incisive television and radio punditry.
