Fabio Leimer is currently the most successful young race car driver in Switzerland, proving his potential by sealing the 2013 GP2 Series title.
Leimer started his career in karting back in 2003, when he won the Swiss Junior Championship. He graduated to single-seater racing in Germany's Formula BMW ADAC series in 2006. After a stint in Formula Renault he moved up the International Formula Masters series, where he became European Champion in 2009. Since then he has competed in GP2, taking his first win in the 2010 Barcelona sprint race.
The Swiss driver enjoyed his best season in the Formula 1 feeder series in 2013, starting with wins in the first two feature races. He followed that with another feature race win at Monza plus four further podiums and a total of 15 top-six finishes as he sealed the title in the Abu Dhabi finale, ending up 20 points clear of a strong field.
